IRICA warns of trading fake export certificates

TEHRAN, June 12 (MNA) – Managing director of Iran’s General Exports Office has cautioned Iranian exporters and traders against the prevailing trade of fake export licenses.

“Some people are cashing in on creating forged documents and selling them around in markets,” added Naser Ebrahimi, “Thus, exporters should carefully examine any import or export certificates they want to buy.”

To prevent more forgery, Iran’s Customs Administration has recently produced export certificates using digital watermark paper sheets that bear a new watermark design. “These sheets include non-forgeable materials like hot stamp and holograms,” Ebrahimi implied.

He also noted that the Administration will lodge complaints over the illegal use of these certificates. “Traders should ask the regional customs office about the accuracy of such documents before buying them from other people,” he stressed.
